Rehab center inmate found dead in city

Bengaluru: A person was found dead under mysterious circumstances at an alcohol rehabilitation center under Madanayakanahalli Police Station limits in the city.

The police identified the deceased as Palani Swamy. It was learnt that he used to work for a scrap godown in Banashankari. However he was addicted to alcohol due to which his family had admitted him to Manjunath foundation de-addiction center near Lakshmipura Cross in Bengaluru.

It was revealed that Swamy was found dead late on Saturday night. His family members suspected something amiss and alerted the jurisdictional police about it.

Following an inspection, the police have registered an unnatural death case in the matter and have taken up further probe.

A few days ago, a person alleged to be suffering from mental illness died after jumping from the third floor of a rehabilitation center in the city.
