Bengaluru: In a swift action, the railway police in the city caught a 53-year-old man for allegedly flaunting a pistol while travelling on Hosapete-Bengaluru train here.
The accused was identified as Kishan Yadav, was nabbed by a head constable, Pradeep DS while inspecting the bogies. According to sources from the police, Pradeep found a man carrying a pistol and a bullet strap with 24 live cartridges in it.
Questioning him, Pradeep found that the accused was travelling without a ticket and refused to answer Pradeep. Suspecting him, Pradeep inquired about Yadav who claimed to be a retired policeman from Uttar Pradesh.
Pradeep alerted the control room and detained him when the train reached Bengaluru city railway station. Inquiries revealed that Kishan had a valid licence but he lost it and got a duplicate one.
