Student files complaint against principal, HoD for 'false' punishment

NT Correspondent Bengaluru A female student of a polytechnic college has filed a complaint with the city police accusing her principal and another staff of falsely punishingher over a fight between a few students in the class.

It was learnt that the complainant is currently pursuing a second year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at a government college in Bengaluru. In her complaint, the student alleged that recently there was a brawl between a few students in the class.

However the Principal and the Head of the Department (HOD) allegedly held her responsible over the incident and subjected her to do sit-ups in front of other students.

She further alleged that the principal summoned her parents and accused her of triggering the fight. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been filed at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station following which the police have issued a notice to the Principal and the Head of the Department of the college to appear for an inquiry.
