Bengaluru: As hundreds thronged to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s home office on Monday for Janaspandana, the poorest and most marginalised among them had their grievances addressed.
For instance, one Anjali Kumbar told the CM of the plight of her six-month-old child Meghashree who suffered from congenital defects, including disability in both legs and a heart abnormality.
Siddaramaiah approved Rs 2 lakh for the treatment of the baby. As street hawkers names Ningamma said that she was being harassed by police and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials, who hindered her from making a living.
The CM directed the cops and the civic body representatives to stop bothering her. Siddaramaiah also directed BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath that loans be provided for 98 people with special needs within 15 days so as to enable them to buy two-wheelers with an additional two training wheels.
However, 50 more people who had made the same demand are in a limbo because they haven’t received training for the same.
The CM also responded positively to the request for permission for 40 houses to be constructed for a nomadic community under the Kalahalli panchayat ofHunsur taluk in Mysuru district.
Siddaramaiah also approved of aid of Rs 1 lakh to Basavaraju whose brother had been suffering from kidney disease.
