Prajwal to contest from Hassan again: Deve Gowda

Hassan: J D(S) national president HD Deve Gowda on Friday confirmed that his grandson and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna would contest from his seat again come Lok Sabha elections of 2024.

He made the comments in Kattebelaguli Sri Ramadevara Katte in Holenarasipur taluk of Hassan district during a JD(S) party workers meeting.

Prajwal is the son of Holenarasipur MLA and Deve Gowda's son HD Revanna. The remarks came as a mild surprise to many as JD(S) has agreed to a prepoll alliance with the BJP and are formally a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

As it stands, a seat-sharing formula has not been agreed upon and the same will be decided upon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister and BJP bigwig Amit Shah, Deve Gowda himself, JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy, saffron party bigwig BS Yediyurappa and his son and BJP state president BY Vijayendra.
