Parents of new-born allege poor hygiene at Vani Vilas hospital

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Parents of a two-day-old child have alleged cockroach infestation inside Vani Vilas hospital in the city after they noticed rashes on the infant's body here.

According to sources, a Nagarbhavi resident, Asharani, was admitted to the hospital two days ago and gave birth to a baby boy.

On Friday, the parents alleged that they noticed cockroaches running around the bed where the child was sleeping. Later they observed rashes on the body and alleged the child must have been bitten by cockroaches.

They further alleged that several cockroaches were found inside the maternity ward and in the child’s clothes. When contacted, hospital authorities rebuffed the claims.
