Advocates condemns brutal attack on a lawyer in Chikmagalur, holds protest in Mysuru

Mysuru: Advocates of the district under the banner of Mysuru District Bar Association held a protest in Mysuru on Monday condemning the attack on advocate Preetham by police personnel in Chikmagalur for not wearing a helmet.

They took out a march from the premises of the District Court in front of Gandhi statue till Ramaswamy Circle shouting slogans against the 'atrocity' of police personnel on advocates.

Traffic was thrown out of gear for sometime near Ramaswamy Circle when advocates blocked the road for sometime.

The advocates also expressed concern over the fate of common people when they go to police stations seeking justice if lawyers themselves are ill treated by police.

They demanded that the government take legal action against the police personnel responsible for the incident besides arresting the guilty officers.
