Cyclist dies after crashing into parked truck

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A techie who was riding a sports bicycle died after he crashed into an illegally parked goods canter on the HennurNagawara Road.

According to the jurisdictional traffic police, the techie sustained severe injuries on his face. The deceased was identified as Ramakrishnan, 51, a resident of HBR Layout in Bengaluru.

The incident took place around 5:45 am on Wednesday when Ramakrishnan was on his morning cycling trail.

The police who inspected the spot following the incident, said that the goods canter had a puncture and was parked on the road without the parking lights or any indication due to which the cyclist failed to notice the vehicle.

Though he was immediately rushed to a private hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, the police said. The Kadugondanahalli Traffic Police have booked the driver of the goods canter for causing death due to negligence and seized his vehicle.
