Building with mobile tower on top collapses

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A mobile tower on top of a building collapsed while construction works on an adjacent site was underway in the city on Friday afternoon.

A two-minute video recorded by locals showed the tower leaning to the side before collapsing. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

According to sources, an Airtel mobile tower, installed on top of a narrow two-storeyed building in the Parvathinagar of Laggere in Bengaluru, began to lean while a JCB was clearing the land after demolishing an adjacent building.

As the locals noticed the building shaking, they warned those living inside to evacuate the building immediately. Fearing for their lives, 11 residents of the building safely exited the building.

Moments later, the building along with the tower collapsed to the ground. Upon receiving an alert, Nandini Layout Police visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
