Bengaluru: Aspirants for government jobs in Karnataka have appealed to the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, to intervene in the alleged inefficiency and corrupt practices plaguing the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).

In a letter addressed to the President, the Karnataka State Competitive Examination Aspirants Association (KSCEAA) highlighted several issues within the KPSC, including: The KSCEAA alleges that the Chairperson and members of the KPSC are hindering efforts to improve transparency and good practices in the recruitment process and the letter claims that the Commission delays approving crucial documents submitted by the Secretary, causing a wait of 8-12 months for aspirants despite their repeated requests.

The KSCEAA also allege undue interference by the Chairperson in the interview process, raising concerns about fairness and transparency and the association challenges the legitimacy of the current Chairperson's appointment, further questioning the Commission's credibility.

The letter pointed out the absence of a proper mechanism for aspirants to address grievances against the Commission's inaction.

The KSCEAA further compared the KPSC to other State Public Service Commissions across India, stating that it lags in transparency, efficiency, and accountability, and suffers from a poor reputation due to past corruption cases.

This appeal reflects the growing frustration and disillusionment among young aspirants in Karnataka who dream of serving their state through government jobs.

The KSCEAA's plea for Presidential intervention highlights the urgent need for reform within the KPSC to restore transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the recruitment process.
