Delete posts about Rohini, SC tells Roopa

New Delhi, NT Bureau: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed senior IPS officer D Roopa to delete her “controversial” social media posts about IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri.

Justices Abhay S Oka and Pankaj Mithal issued the directive while hearing a petition by Roopa seeking quashing of a criminal defamation complaint filed by Sindhuri.

The bench added that while Roopa might not be able to delete all the posts pertaining to Rohini, she should try and then put up an admission saying she withdrew the comments against Sindhuri.. The judges also expressed disappointment with the fact that the two officers hadn’t settled the dispute amicably.

“If IAS-IPS officers fight like this, how will the administration work?” the bench asked. Sindhuri has accused Roopa of “character assassination” via social media posts.
