Speaker adjourns winter session
Belagavi, NT Bureau: Assembly Speaker UT Khader adjourned the winter session at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on Friday in what was an expected move.
The session lasted for 11 days from December 4 to December 15. However, there was a two-day gap owing to the second Saturday and Sunday over the last week.
Khader disclosed that 66 hours of discussion had taken place this session and that 17 Bills had been passed in both Houses.
They await the assent of the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to be signed into law.
The Speaker also pointed out that it was the first session after the 50th anniversary of the erstwhile state of Mysuru being rechristened Karnataka under the then Chief Minister Devaraj Urs.
