Telangana officers seek DKS intervention for top posts
NT Correspondent | NT
Bengaluru: Two top officers from Telangana have approached the aides of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, seeking elevation to plum posts in their state.
One of them is a senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer seeking appointment to the post of Chief Secretary (CS).
Another is an Indian Police Services (IPS) officer who wants to be named the next Director General of Police (DGP). Both are said to have been close to the previous ruling party Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
The idea is to approach Shivakumar and lobby for the posts so that the Karnataka Congress chief can approach the newly appointed A Revanth Reddy and suggest their names.
The move underlines Shivakumar’s rising star in the Congress even beyond his home state. Shivakumar working in tandem with Congress’ chairman of the Election Strategy Committee (ESC) Sunil Kanugolu had been instrumental in delivering the Grand Old Party a simple majority in the polls.
However, the Revanth Reddy administration is said to be happy to go with the current hierarchy.
