Police taking precautionary measure ahead of New Year celebrations

Bengaluru: Despite the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has said that there will be no covid-related restrictions for the upcoming New Year celebrations, the city police are taking precautionary measures against pubs and bars accommodating more than the capacity here.

As the fear of Covid-19 cases looms large in Bengaluru again, pubs and restaurants have been strictly warned to maintain patrons as per capacity.

Seats in pubs should be allowed only to reserved customers. Police sources also said that they had a meeting with pub managements earlier this week during which the owners were warned that if they allow more people in order to get more business, legal action will be taken.

Large crowds usually descend for New Year parties as celebrities visit some of the prestigious pubs.

So the pub owners or managers of pubs have been told to compulsorily inform the jurisdictional police station.
