Woman dies after giving birth, family allege negligence from doctors

Chikkamagaluru: In a shocking incident, the family of a woman accused the health staff of the district hospital of negligence, in her postnatal stage resulting in her death.

The deceased, Ranjitha Bai, 22, from Vaderahalli Thanda in Kadur taluk, gave birth to her child on Saturday afternoon.

However, it was learnt that the woman’s health was inconsistent. The family alleged that medical attention was not given to the woman despite the matter being brought to the notice of the doctors.

The administration had brandished a bill only for the delivery, family members alleged.

This incident led to a protest by the local people demanding prompt action against the medical officers who have caused her death.
