The accused have been identified as Sheikh Ilyas, 34, and Nagendra, 35, both hailing from Andhra Pradesh. They were arrested along with 650 grams of ornaments worth Rs 35 lakh.

According to the police, the duo had been operating since 2007 and took to crime to lead an easy and lavish life. They started from Andhra Pradesh and committed thefts at Ananthpur, Hindupur and Gauribidanur districts.

They later also began committing thefts in the city in areas such as Magadi Road, Taverekere, Hennur, Hebbal and K.R. Puram.
