Bengaluru on top as Zomato sees record New Year orders; tips surpass Rs 97 lakh

Bengaluru: On the eve of 2023, Zomato witnessed an extraordinary surge, fulfilling almost as many orders as the platform managed on the combined New Year's Eve from 2015 to 2020.

Bengaluru took the lead, emerging as the city with the highest number of events booked and tables reserved on Zomato nationwide, highlighting its fervour for celebrations.

In response to this heightened demand, the platform efficiently mobilized an extensive workforce, deploying over 3.2 lakh delivery agents across Zomato and Blinkit.

Adding a heartwarming touch, Indians expressed their gratitude through generous tips, accumulating to over Rs 97 lakh by 11:39 pm of December 31.

This collective appreciation mirrored the significance of these frontline workers in facilitating joyous celebrations.
