Bengaluru: Busting yet another flesh trade in the city, the Yelahanka New Town police on Sunday uncovered a clandestine operation at a luxury Thai spa revealing that the establishment, which presented itself as a high-end wellness services, was, in fact, a hub for a high-tech prostitution ring.

Following a raid, the police rescued seven women foreign nationals and arrested a staff identified as Kishore.

The police said that the owner of the spa along with two other accused are currently on the run.

A senior official from the North East Division of Bengaluru said that the operation was carried out based on credible information by the sources.

Despite being popular and displaying a luxurious exterior appearance, the Thai Spa served as a front for illegal activities, including the trafficking of women from Thailand and other countries for body-to-body massage and prostitution services.

Sources said that the spa exploited a disturbing modus operandi, bringing women from different countries under the guise of tourist and business visas.

Later, someone coerced these women into engaging in prostitution.

The police expressed profound astonishment at high-tech facilities discovered within spa, emphasising the need for a thorough investigation to network supporting such activities.
