NT Impact: Empty signboards now have names

Bengaluru: After months of inactivity, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has finally installed names on signboards in Ward number 145 Hombegowda Nagar, popularly known as Wilson Garden.

On 29th January, News Trail brought light to this issue where boards without any names have been installed.

Only two boards, one towards the Shantinagar TTMC and the 9th cross in Wilson Garden were visible. Motorists, especially those in delivery and transport services, found navigating to their respective destinations difficult.

It had cost their fare amount, owing to delays and wrong destinations. The assistant engineer of the ward, despite their forgetfulness, ensured work would commence soon.

It was claimed that the contractor, assigned to install the boards last year, had allegedly fallen ill, resulting in the delay.

Signs bearing the name of the cross, the area and the local MLA's name have appeared on these boards, bringing clarity.
