Bengaluru: An FIR has been registered at the Chitradurga Rural Police Station in Karnataka against BJP MP from Shivamogga BY Raghavendra for a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in the lead up to Lok Sabha elections.

The complaint was made in relation to a speech made by Raghavendra in Bhovi mutt in Chitradurga district on Saturday.

After his visit to the mutt, the MP made a political speech saying the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would be a contest between “nationalist” and “anti-national forces”, which was regarded as a violation of the MCC.

He also spoke to mediapersons after his visit to the mutt and pointed out that it wasn’t a contest between 'Geethakka' and 'Raghanna' but between two different ideologies.

He was referring to the fact that Congress has fielded Geetha Shivarajkumar against him in Shivamogga.

Geetha is the daughter of former CM S Bangarappa and the sister of Primary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa. She is also married to Kannada movie actor Shivarajkumar.
