Bulk users should save water: BWSSB
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Ram Prasath Manohar on Monday told bulk users to adopt ‘Pancha Sutras,’ of water saving by April 10.
They include increase in use of treated water, implementing technology in bore wells, adopting rainwater wells and fostering awareness about the new implementations.
Bulk users are those, according to the BWSSB, who consume 40 lakh liters to 2 lakh liters a day. In a meeting at the Cauvery Bhavan, The chairman urged bulk users to contribute to their cause for a ‘Water Surplus Bengaluru.’
However, experts have dismissed the ‘ambitious campaign,’ calling it irresponsible. Bulk users will be certified with the ‘Green Star Rating,’ if these methods are being followed promptly.
