Siddu, Shivakumar rally support for Lakshman in Kodagu dist

Kodagu: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Sunday hit the campaign trail in Madikeri town of Kodagu district trying to gather support for the Congress candidate from the constituency.

Congressman M Lakshman will be taking on BJP candidate Yaduveer Wodeyar from the Mysuru royal family in the Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat.

The saffron party had sidelined their MP Pratap Simha, a Vokkaliga, in favour of Yaduveer. The Grand Old Party hopes to gain the support of the Vokkaligas by fielding community member Lakshman.

Shivakumar, who is emerging as a Vokkaliga mass leader is also trying his best to get Lakshman elected.
