Section 144 to be imposed on counting day on June 4 in city

Bengaluru, NT Bureau:To avoid any untoward incident on the day of counting of votes of the Lok Sabha polls, the Bengaluru police Commissioner on Monday said Section 144 will be imposed in city limits on June 4.

The counting of ballot papers is set to take place at St Joseph's School and PU College, Vittal Mallya Road for Bangalore North constituency; Mount Carmel PU College for Bengaluru Central and SSMRV PU College, Jayanagar, for Bengaluru South.

The clampdown will be in place from 6 am on June 4 until 12 am on June 5, alongside a prohibition on the sale of alcohol in the Bengaluru police commissionerate region.
