Double trouble for Darshan

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In the latest development in the Darshan saga, one of the accused arrested by the Bengaluru police in the Renukaswamy murder case, has reportedly volunteered to become an approver in the case.

Sources on Thursday said that the accused, identified as Deepak Kumar, listed as accused number 13 in the case, has confessed to the crime and has volunteered to be an approver in the case.

So far it has been revealed that Kumar was allegedly in the shed when Renukaswamy died. Later, he was given the responsibility of handing over Rs 5 lakh to the accused who had surrendered at Kamakshipalya Police reportedly to 'protect' actor Darshan.

The police said the actor has maintained that he had no role in the murder but has however conceded that he went to the shed but left early.

According to Deepak Kumar's statements, Darshan was present at the crime scene when Renukaswamy was tortured.

He alleged that Darshan had kicked Renukaswamy in the private parts, according to sources.

Meanwhile three people, including a close aide of Darshan, were arrested in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy even as the police recovered CCTV footage showing the suspected abduction of the victim in a car.
