Speed radar and cameras fixed to detect over-speeding
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The state road and safety department has decided to install Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and speed radar guns on Nice Road in response to the increasing number of road accidents.
By installing these cameras, vehicles exceeding the prescribed speed limit or violating other traffic rules can be easily detected. Cases can be registered against motorists who violate the rules.
This measure is part of the department's efforts to reduce the number of accidents on Nice Road. The department will install ANPR cameras in the coming days.
Three days ago, three people died in a severe road accident on NICE Road. Most of the accidents are due to speeding, traffic violations, and the use of mobile phones while driving. Sixty-five accident cases have been registered in the last six months.
Such cameras have already been installed on the Bangalore-Mysore highway and the road leading to Kempegowda Airport, leading to a reduction in accidents.
Any violation of traffic rules, including speeding, using mobile phones while driving, and not wearing seat belts, will be automatically captured by the cameras, and cases will be filed, said ADGP Alok Kumar.
