BBMP cracks whip on unauthorised flexes/banners

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Chief Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Tushar Girinath has mandated stringent actions against unauthorised flexes and banners within BBMP limits.

Addressing a municipal meeting, Girinath highlighted the need for effective control over these installations and directed zonal commissioners to take strict measures.

Unauthorised flexes are being removed, and FIRs lodged, but their installation along roads remains unchecked. Joint operations with the police will be implemented to tackle this issue. Additionally, a night patrol vehicle will be assigned to each zone to monitor major roads.

The newly launched "Road Pothole Attention" app will expedite pothole repairs. Dengue control efforts are also in place, with increased fogging and distribution of neem oil and DEET cream in hotspot areas.

Officials are urged to prioritise these actions to manage public health and infrastructure effectively.
