Schoolkid cons friend of `3 lakh in gold, cash

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a distressing incident in Bengaluru, a young woman fell victim to betrayal by a friend, resulting in the loss of her family's gold jewellery. Those involved are Tejas, a 10th-grade student, and Sneha, who is doing her PUC.

Tejas pretended to be a good friend of Sneha and gained her trust, only to exploit her vulnerabilities later. Tejas's alleged series of manipulations and threats ultimately made Sneha hand over significant amounts of money and gold jewellery.

The theft came to light when Sneha's mother checked the jewellery cupboard and discovered the missing items. Tejas exploited Sneha’s trust and threatened to expose her relationship unless she gave him money and gold, police sources said.

Fearing the repercussions, Sneha complied with his demands, resulting in a loss of Rs 3.50 lakh cash and 75 grams of gold jewellery.

After finding the jewellery missing, Sneha's mother filed a complaint at Subrahmanyapur police station. The police tracked down Tejas, arrested him, and recovered the stolen gold ornaments.
