Police arrest notorious criminal facing 66 cases

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Pulakeshinagar Police have arrested a notorious criminal who has been evading the law since 2004.

The arrest took place on the morning of March 5, 2024, near the Lingarajpuram underpass. The accused was involved in 66 criminal cases across Bengaluru and in various districts of Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Known for his history of criminal activities, he had 38 non-appearance warrants issued against him by the court due to his repeated failure to appear for numerous charges. His arrest marks a significant victory for the Pulakeshinagar Police, who have been diligently tracking his movements.

The operation, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police D Devaraj of the Eastern Division, was executed under the guidance of CR Geetha, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pulakeshinagar Sub Division.

The team, spearheaded by Police Inspector B Govindaraju, successfully apprehended the accused after a prolonged and meticulous investigation. Following his arrest, the accused was taken to the Pulakeshinagar Police Station, where a case was registered against him.

On August 5, he was produced before the court, which subsequently remanded him to judicial custody. The accused's long history of criminal activities suggests that his arrest will significantly reduce the crime rate in the areas he operated.
