Cut-off scores, counselling details released by NBEMS

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET PG) 2024.

Candidates who appeared for this crucial medical entrance examination can now view their results on the NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in. While individual marks have been released, comprehensive scorecards will be issued at a later date.

The NEET PG rank indicates each candidate's overall merit position among all test-takers. In conjunction with the results, the NBEMS has also published the NEET PG cutoff scores.

These scores are crucial for admission into MD, MS, DNB, and diploma programmes across various categories, including general, EWS, general-PWBD, SC, ST, and OBC (including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC). The NEET PG 2024 examination took place on August 11, 2024, across 416 venues in 170 cities nationwide.

With around 228,540 applicants, the exam was conducted in English and lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes. It featured 200 multiple-choice questions, divided into three sections, each with its own allotted time.

Following the release of results, candidates must participate in the NEET PG 2024 counselling process to secure a seat. The MCC will handle the counselling for all-India quota seats through its website, mcc. nic.in. The schedule for this counselling will be announced shortly.

Additionally, state quota NEET PG counselling will be managed by respective state agencies. In Karnataka, approximately 100 medical colleges will offer MD/MS admissions for about 5,267 MBBS seats. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will conduct NEET PG 2024 counselling in three online rounds, with a stray vacancy round only if seats remain after the mop-up round.

To participate in KEA NEET PG counselling, candidates must first complete the registration process and pay the required fees. Document verification is mandatory for counselling participation.

Subsequently, candidates must fill and lock their choices, followed by the seat allotment process. Once allocated a seat, candidates must report to the respective institute to confirm their admission.
