Bitcoin accused complains against co-accused
NT Correspondent: Bengaluru One of the prime accused In the ongoing Bitcoin scam investigation, Srikrishna alias Sriki, has filed a formal complaint with the CID DGP and the Home Department against his co-accused, Sunish Hegde. Sriki’s complaint, submitted via email on September 3, has prompted the Home Department to initiate an inquiry. The complaint alleges that Hegde was not only involved in the Bitcoin scam but also in a separate drug case registered at Kempegowda Nagar police station in 2020.
Both Sriki and Hegde were arrested in connection with the Bitcoin scam by Cottonpet police the same year. They were recently granted conditional bail, which included the stipulation that they could not travel abroad without prior court approval. Sriki accused Hegde of violating bail terms by traveling overseas. This accusation follows a raid by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at Hegde’s residence, where documents linked to the Bitcoin scam were seized.
Sriki, who studied abroad, claims he met Hegde on returning to India. The two allegedly collaborated five years ago to hack the government’s e-procurement website, resulting in illegal transfers. The CID police have confirmed that both men were arrested for their involvement in the cybercrime.
