Bengaluru, Jan. 6 With the number of Covid hospitalizations on the rise in the last few days, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has instructed the officials to take up necessary measures regarding the bed reservation for Covid-19 patients at private hospitals.

BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta had held a virtual meeting on Covid Hospital Bed Management System (CHBMS) in BBMP limits. He said, “The rise in the number of Covid cases in the city might spread panic among the general public; but it is unnecessary. With proper arrangements of beds at hospitals, both government and private, in accordance with the Centre’s order, the conditions would be tackled efficiently.”

According to the reports, there are around 60,000 Covid tests being taken up daily across the city. Daily admission rate (number of people getting admitted) at hospitals has seen an increase from 20 to 60 per day. But the civic body claims that the infected persons need not be worried, as the BBMP’s tele triaging team and mobile triaging team of concerned ward will check the health conditions of the infected. “Only those who require hospitalisation will be admitted to hospital and others may continue with home isolation, ‘’ chief commissioner added.
