Bengaluru: Jumping bail is all too common but has anyone heard of a patient jumping quarantine? The doctor at a reputed private hospital has filed a complaint against a 28-yearold Covid 19 patient for fleeing from the hospital while under treatment.

The patient is the son of a well-known realtor and was undergoing institutional quarantine at the hospital. He reportedly disappeared from the hospital in Doddaballapura without informing anyone and a case has been registered against him under The Disaster Management Act of 2005. A resident of Vasanthanagar in Bengaluru, he is said to have escaped between 11.55 am and 12 noon on Monday.

The patient had returned from abroad and had tested positive in the Rapid PCR test at Kempe Gowda International Airport. He was then taken to the private hospital for treatment. As chances of him spreading the virus are high, the police are making frantic efforts to trace him. It is said that he is not present at his house in Vasanthanagar.

“The patient has violated Covid guidelines and could even be convicted,” said an officer.
