Temporary relief for Muthanallur Road amidst heavy rain damage
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: The Muthanallur Road, which sustained severe damage due to heavy rainfall, is currently undergoing repairs to provide temporary relief to motorists. The municipal corporation has initiated work to fill and patch up the dangerous potholes that have formed along the road. Crews are busy paving the affected areas with gravel and mud, improving the road’s condition for smoother vehicle movement. Residents have expressed frustration over the hazardous state of the road, noting that more than 50 potholes were concentrated in one area, making navigation extremely difficult. Motorists had previously struggled to find a clear path amidst the numerous depressions, often likening the road to a series of pits. The ongoing repairs are seen as a much-needed solution, offering some relief to those who travel this route daily. While the current work is a temporary fix, it has significantly alleviated the immediate concerns of residents and commuters.
They have welcomed the gravel overlay, which has improved safety and made travel more manageable. The municipal corporation’s swift response to address the pothole issue reflects its commitment to maintaining road safety, even though long-term solutions are still required to ensure the road’s durability against future rainfall. Many residents, however, have raised concerns about the effectiveness of these temporary repairs, fearing that without a permanent solution, the road will soon deteriorate again.
