Book PDP leaders for flouting Covid norms: Officials

Srinagar: Authorities in South Kashmir have written to JK Police to book 10 leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party for violating COVID-19 protocol by organising a “rally” at Bijbehara in Anantnag on the 6th death anniversary of party founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Friday. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had led the party leaders on Friday and offered prayers at the grave of Mufti Sayeed in Anantnag district. “..It is to intimate that the following persons/organizers of Peoples Democratic Party organised a large gathering today on 07.01.2022 at the tomb of Ex. CM Mufti Mohammad Syed at Padshah Bagh Zirpara Bijbehara in complete violation of SOP’s...”, Tehsildar Bijbehara said in a letter to police. After plaint, Mufti criticized the action. —(PTI)
