A 20-year-old man, identified as Rihan Pasha, was stabbed to death in Maralur Dinne, Tumakuru. He succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru after initial treatment at the district hospital. Police have arrested six persons in connection with the crime: Sadiq Pasha, Mujahid Pasha, Abbas, Dastgir, Imran and Yousuf, all residents of the Maralur Dinne area. A thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack is underway. According to a complaint filed by Rihan's brother, Ayan Pasha, the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 pm when the accused allegedly called Rihan out of his home. As he stepped outside, the group attacked him, with Sadiq delivering a fatal stab wound to his stomach. The attackers fled the scene following the assault. Rihan, a welder by profession, was reportedly in a romantic relationship with a young woman who is a relative of Mujahid Pasha.
Previous disputes between Rihan and Mujahid over this relationship had been reported, leading to ongoing tensions. Ayan Pasha believes that the young woman played a role in instigating the violence that led to his brother's death. A case has been registered at the Jayanagar Police Station, and investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details of the incident.
