Why dig up a road that’s in good condition?
Bengaluru: The problem with THE Bengaluru Smart City Limited (BSCL) is that it focuses on roads that do not need any upgradation.
The other problem with the BSCL authorities is that they do not bother to consult stakeholders while planning to take up the work up the particular road for strengthening or developing.
I am of the opinion that the BSCL authorities have not consulted the businessmen on Commercial Street while taking up the road work. What is the use of digging a road that is in good condition? I want the authorities to focus on water supply and ensuring the city free from garbage woes instead of digging roads and not restoring them on time.
A smart city is a framework, predominantly composed of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), to develop, deploy, and promote sustainable development practices to address growing urbanization challenges.
The need of the hour is to focus on the basic needs of all areas. Developing or beautifying a few roads will not be a sustainable development. There are many areas in the city without basic amenities. I would rather the BSCL authorities develop and rejuvenate lakes to facilitate people to use the water they contain.
