A protest demanding the immediate release of SSP scholarships for MBA, MCA, and MTech post-graduate students across Karnataka was held at Freedom Park today, led by AIDSO. Abhaya Diwakar, State Vice-President of AIDSO, addressed the crowd, highlighting that the scholarships, valued between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000, are due to approximately 7,000 post-graduate students but have not been released yet. She criticised the government’s inaction and emphasised that the SSP scholarship is a right for poor and meritorious students, urging students to continue fighting for it.
Student representatives Girish and Bharath also spoke, expressing frustration over the bureaucratic hurdles in receiving the scholarship. "From applying to getting the amount, we face countless obstacles. The government's attitude is dismissive," they said. Apoorva, District President, who presided over the protest, pointed out that despite multiple protests, the state government has failed to address the issue, causing injustice to thousands of students across various disciplines. District Secretariat members Nawaz, Sneha, and Rakshu were also present, and hundreds of students from various institutions participated in the protest.
