Bengaluru: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced the APAAR ID as the primary identifier for students in affiliated schools. A notice regarding its implementation process is available on the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in. The APAAR ID aims to streamline student identification and enhance administrative efficiency in schools. The implementation involves six key steps. First, schools are required to organise Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to introduce the APAAR ID system.

During these meetings, the significance and benefits of the APAAR ID will be explained to parents and students. Next, schools must distribute physical consent forms to parents, who need to sign and authorise the use of Aadhaar details to generate the APAAR IDs. In the third step, school authorities will verify student details such as names, dates of birth, and Aadhaar numbers on the UDISE+ portal. Following this, schools will generate APAAR IDs using the portal, which will be securely linked to students' DigiLocker accounts. Parents will receive confirmation via SMS once this process is complete. The fifth step involves distributing the APAAR IDs to students and parents.

Finally, in the event of discrepancies, parents will be directed to Common Service Centres (CSCs) for corrections. To monitor the implementation of APAAR ID creation, CBSE has developed an online system called "APAAR ID Monitoring (AIM)." Additionally, a toll-free helpline has been activated at 1800-889-3511, allowing schools to seek assistance if required.
