CCB to challenge HC ruling in actress Sanjana Galrani’s drug case

Bengaluru: Ac t ress Sanjana Galrani, who was arrested in a drugrelated case in 2020, may face fresh legal trouble as the Central Crime Branch (CCB) prepares to challenge the Karnataka High Court’s ruling in the Supreme Court. The CCB had initially registered a drug case against Sanjana in 2020, leading to her arrest and subsequent imprisonment. After being released, she pursued legal avenues to clear her name, eventually securing relief when the Karnataka High Court quashed the case against her.

However, the CCB has now sought permission from the home department to appeal the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court. Approval is expected soon, following which the case will be reopened at the apex court. The CCB’s move is part of its ongoing efforts to investigate drug-related offences and ensure accountability. If the Supreme Court admits the appeal, Sanjana may once again have to defend herself in court.

Legal experts suggest that this could lead to further scrutiny, potentially impacting her legal standing. CCB officials are reportedly compiling evidence and preparing legal documents to strengthen their argument. Meanwhile, Sanjana has not yet responded to the latest developments. If the case proceeds, it could have significant legal and professional repercussions for the actress.
