Accidents: NICE to restrict 2-wheeler entry

Bengaluru: Concerned over the menace of rising road accidents, especially among two-wheeler riders, Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Limited (NICEL) in Bengaluru has decided to restrict the entry of two-wheelers on the private toll road from January 16.
In a press release shared on Thursday, NICE stated that after discussing the surge in accident cases with the Bengaluru Traffic Police, they have decided to prevent two-wheeler entry on NICE road during the night between 10pm to 5am.
As a result of unchecked speed and riders not following regulations, the increasing accidents on the city road has become a matter of concern for traffic authorities.
“Based on Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), BR Ravikanthe Gowda’s directions, the management has taken the decision to ensure public safety,” Hemanth, spokesperson from NICE, told News Trail.
