Speeding lorry crushes woman to death in Peenya

Bengaluru: A tragic road ac cident occurred near 8th Mile in Peenya on Thursday when a speeding lorry rammed into a motorcy cle, resulting in the hor rific death of a woman passenger.

According to eyewit nesses, the lorry struck the two-wheeler from behind, causing the pil lion rider, identified as Lakshmi, to fall onto the road. In a gruesome turn, the heavy vehicle ran over her, crushing her body completely. She died on the spot.

The motorcycle was carrying a family of three — Lakshmi, her husband, and their one-year-old child. Miraculously, both the child and the hus band escaped with mi nor injuries. The horrifying incident triggered public outrage in the area. Enraged lo cals hurled stones at the lorry and physically as saulted the driver, blam ing him for reckless driv ing that led to the fatal crash.

The mob vandal ised the vehicle before police from Peenya sta tion arrived at the scene to control the situation. The lorry driver has been taken into custody for questioning, and po lice are examining CCTV footage from the area to determine the exact cause of the crash.
