'Don’t count rejections': The huge ambition of Shree Vaishnav
Bengaluru
Expanding his creative reach beyond the digital grid, Shree Vaishnav has successfully bridged the gap between social media influence and the silver screen, establishing himself as a compelling new face in the film industry. This South Bengaluru-based content creator, popularly known as vaishnavaaa_ on Instagram, boasts a following of over 81,700 followers.
He is currently a full-time actor who also writes, directs, and works extensively as an improviser. His transition from relatable social media reels to cinematic performance feels like a natural evolution - retaining the same compelling screen presence and expressive charisma that first captivated his audience, now elevated into nuanced characters and professional storytelling.
Creativity unleashed
“I actively participated in and explored most of the cultural activities during my degree, and that’s when I realised this was something I truly wanted to pursue,” said Shree Vaishnav in an exclusive interview with News Trail, reflecting on his decision to shift his career path from a BBA to the performing arts. From an early age, Vaishnav enjoyed creating and sharing quirky, positive videos with his friends on Snapchat in 2018, before taking his content to Instagram during the 2020 lockdown.
“Because of my strong interest in acting, I began writing scripts and playing different characters so that, if a director noticed, it would highlight my versatility”, he explained. By 2022, he had gained significant recognition for his online content and continued to broaden and develop his video concepts.
Destined for the big screen
Determined to enter the film industry from a young age, Vaishnav actively networked and connected with professionals in the field.
A breakthrough came through Tharlebox Entertainment in 2022, whom he approached directly and received a response from. He went on to work as a producer and writer for the web series ‘Kyaabre’, an experience that played a significant role in shaping his early journey and learning in the industry.
One of his notable contributions to the film industry is ‘One Cut Two Cut’ by PRK Productions, where he shared screen space with well-known personalities such as ‘Danish Sait’ and ‘Vineeth Beep Kumar’. He has also appeared in films like ‘Full Meals’, along with five other projects that are yet to be released.
“If you don’t have fun doing it, you can’t expect audiences to enjoy watching it,” he said, adding that he makes a conscious effort to enjoy the process while filming, emphasising that genuinely experiencing the emotions being portrayed is crucial; without that authenticity, the work would fail to engage viewers.
Staying grounded
“I am really grateful to have them and their constant guidance in my life,” he said, referring to his friends and frequent collaborators Raghu Gowda (raghu_vinestore_official) and Deepak (Deepak_brooo). He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to his mother, describing her as his primary support since day one, even through the toughest times.
“My vision was bigger than the problems I was facing”, he said, reflecting on the challenges he has overcome and expressing pride in how far he has come. He also spoke warmly about his audience, appreciating the support and affection they continue to show, and noting that he makes it a point to reply to most messages he receives on Instagram. Offering advice to aspiring creators, he said, “If you really want to do it, don’t count the rejections; count the number of days you have been working on it”.
