Meet Poorvi Gudagur, the vibrant force behind the Instagram handle @poorvayyy, followed by over 153,000 people. She is a digital storyteller who turns the ordinary into an aesthetic masterpiece. At just 19, the Bengaluru-based creator has built a growing presence on Instagram and YouTube (@poorvigudagur, 10.3K subscribers) by turning ordinary daily moments into engaging narratives.

Often blending ‘Day in the Life’ vlogs with high-energy reels, inspiring a generation to romanticise their lives while keeping it refreshingly real, one viral reel at a time. She has built a persona that feels like a close friend to her followers, frequently discussing topics like personal growth, self-improvement, and the realities of navigating young adulthood.

Potential unlocked
“I used to make and edit a lot of videos, then wondered why just keep it to myself? That’s how I began posting them”, said Poorvi, speaking to News Trail in an exclusive interview about her journey as a content creator. She is currently a student at a National Law University who began experimenting with online content creation during her summer break in May 2025.

Her primary interest lies in recording and editing videos, which sparked her interest in this field.“Initial months were difficult to balance both college and creation, but then the routine became easier. Now I edit in my free time after classes and record on the weekends”, she said.

Just a ‘lifestyle’
When asked about the genre of her videos, Poorvi explained that her content doesn’t fit into a specific niche. “I personally believe that if you’re into personal branding, you are the brand itself, so there’s no need to limit yourself”, she said.

She added that she would broadly classify her content as ‘Lifestyle,’ as it encompasses a mix of different topics. Speaking about what sets her account apart, she emphasises the importance of ‘effort’. “When someone consistently shows up and puts in the work, you can tell they’re onto something”, she says.

From a technical perspective, the 'text captions' in her videos are highly engaging for the audience. She explained that, although it may seem like a small detail, it makes a significant difference, which is why she chooses to edit them manually. Another aspect Poorvi emphasised was the 'colour grading' in her videos, which represents an additional technical effort during editing.

“All of this contributes to a personal style, and I believe I’ve developed it specifically for my account and content”, she said, adding that the key factor that attracts viewers is the authenticity of her videos. “A follower once met me in real life and told me that when she watches my videos, it feels as if I made them just for her. I think that’s what matters the most”, she noted, highlighting the importance of relatability as well.

The creators' collective
Poorvi spoke about the workshops she has been running with her friend Dhruv Bhawsar, called ‘The Creators' Collective’. These workshops aim to build a community for aspiring creators. She explained, “Many people want to start creating but don’t know where to begin. Along the way, some end up becoming influencers rather than true content creators. We wanted to create a space for people who are passionate about storytelling, because we truly believe that the future of content lies in storytelling”.

She emphasised that while editing and many other aspects of content creation can be automated, “your unique way of storytelling and your passion for the craft cannot be automated”.Looking ahead, Poorvi hopes to dedicate more time to her YouTube channel, as she enjoys creating long-form video content and aims to reach 1 million subscribers. She also plans to continue honing her legal practice. “Be true and just create for the art”, she advised aspiring creators.
