How Srishti R Jois traded hard news to explore the scope of social media
Bengaluru
Srishti R. Jois, a vibrant and authentic digital creator hailing from Byadgi in Haveri district and currently based in Bengaluru, has amassed a strong Instagram following of 94,600 by inviting her audience to laugh and relate to everyday moments infused with humour and charm. She is known for her expressive storytelling and observational humour, often creating content that captures the relatable quirks of human dynamics and local culture.
Beyond her presence on social media, Srishti is a versatile professional with a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from St Joseph’s University. She is currently working in the media and journalism sector, serving as a social media executive at a media house. Whether she is sharing a quick comedic Reel or providing a glimpse into her personal travels and reflections, her work remains rooted in a sense of community and regional pride that resonates deeply with her followers.
Multiple internships, multiple experiences
“My content creation journey began during my internship at a marketing agency, where I gained valuable insights into social media and realised the vast scope it offers”, said Srishti, speaking to News Trail in an exclusive interview about the beginnings of her creator journey. Having completed multiple internships and worked with several companies, she emphasised that such experiences play a crucial role in personal and professional growth.
“Internships open up opportunities to connect with new people and keep you on your toes”, she said. Although she initially pursued science in her academic journey, she remained inclined towards the arts. Creativity and support are deeply rooted in her family. Her mother, Hema Jois, is a music teacher, while her sister, Sushmita R. Jois, is a radio jockey with a strong passion for music.
Her father, S. Rama Jois, a businessman, also forms an integral part of her support system. Her interest in acting developed early on and found expression during her college years, where she participated in drama and various extracurricular activities. “I was part of many clubs and actively participated in several events”, she added.
Egg puff that went viral
“I used to post a lot of videos, including ones where I sang without showing my face, and a few random skits. None of it was intentional - it was purely for fun”, said Srishti, adding that she was encouraged to start posting on her own platform after her experience of managing social media for companies. A major turning point came with her first viral video, which she considers a significant milestone.
The comedic skit, created in collaboration with fellow content creator Fabiean Rallis Abraham (fabby_rallis), who was also her colleague at the time, featured two friends meeting at a bakery and humorously debating who should pay the bill. The video resonated widely with audiences, garnering substantial views, engagement, and reach. Another notable moment of virality came when she shared a video capturing the streets of Bengaluru on the night Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the Indian Premier League in 2025.
Joining fellow fans in celebration, she documented the vibrant atmosphere while dressed in an RCB jersey, further connecting with her audience.
“Currently, I create relatable comedy content, but I would like to explore more niches going forward”, she shared. While she has not yet transitioned into full-time content creation, Srishti continues to balance her professional commitments with her passion, dedicating her weekly day off to shooting and posting content.
Just keep swimming!
Srishti is currently engaged in multiple projects and is keenly awaiting her followers’ response upon their release. Expressing her career aspirations, she said, “I aspire to be in front of the camera rather than behind”, highlighting her keen interest in the film industry and her ambition to pursue acting on a larger platform. When asked about advice for aspiring creators, Srishti maintained that she considers herself to still be in a phase of growth, with a long journey ahead.
She acknowledged that time constraints sometimes limit her ability to create content, yet she continues to persevere. She encouraged others to remain consistent and resilient, emphasising the importance of not giving up in the face of challenges. “Coming from a small place, my parents did not initially understand what I was doing. I sat them down and explained it to them so they could appreciate the effort that goes into it and what I am achieving”, she shared, adding that, above all, it is important to enjoy the process of working rather than focusing solely on the result.
