Preceded by a gamut of scholastic deliberations and cultural efflorescence, the conference indubitably left an indelible imprint upon the nearly 6,000 delegates who had converged on the port city from diverse pockets of the nation. At the valedictory ceremony held on Saturday, U. T. Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, lavished encomiums upon the organisers for successfully organisng the event.
Khader remarked that, about two decades ago, physiotherapy remained relatively obscure; yet, in a remarkable paradigmatic shift, it has now emerged as one of the most sought-after disciplines. He averred, “among the allied health sciences, it has emerged as a field of burgeoning demand, warranting the establishment of dedicated physiotherapy colleges in every district across the state.” M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte University, was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award on the occasion.
The ceremony was graced by a galaxy of eminent personalities, mostly from the physiotherapy and allied healthcare fraternity. Speakers were profuse in their appreciation of the pivotal role played by U. T.
