Ltd., said the commissioning of the plant would dramatically amplify the company’s operational scale and manufacturing capabilities. Equipped with sophisticated automated machinery and cuttingedge processing systems, the facility commands an installed production capacity of one lakh litres of ice cream per day.
Tracing its remarkable journey from modest beginnings, Hangyo commenced operations in Mangaluru in 1997 with softy at Saibeen Complex before establishing a small ice cream manufacturing unit at Heroor, Brahmavara in Udupi district on February 1, 2003. Over the years, the company has evolved into one of India’s fastestgrowing ice cream brands, with a formidable presence across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa and Maharashtra.
The brand’s expansive distribution network encompasses over 500 distributors and nearly 47,500 retail touchpoints spread across seven states. Founder promoters, Dinesh Pai, Pradeep Pai and Jagadish Pai are native of Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district. Anchored by its robust manufacturing ecosystem at Heroor near Udupi and Kirwatti in Uttara Kannada, Hangyo has developed an extensive production and distribution architecture catering to a rapidly expanding consumer base. Supported by a workforce of nearly 1,200 employees and an aggregate daily production capacity of 1.25 lakh litres, the company has emerged as a formidable player in India’s organised dairy and ice cream sector.
Hangyo is now being steered by its dynamic next-generation leadership, with the active involvement of the founders’ second-generation successors -- Srinivas Pai, Sankeern Pai and Srikrishna Pai who play an instrumental role in the company’s strategic expansion, operational modernisation and brand evolution. Summing up the company’s vision, Pradeep G. Pai observed that the Tirupati facility represents a transformative milestone in Hangyo’s commercial evolution. “The new plant will substantially augment our production bandwidth while reinforcing supplychain efficiencies and accelerating market penetration across emerging territories in South India,” he said.
