Mysuru: Congress spokesperson Mr M Lakshman has claimed that more than 15 JD(S) leaders are set to join the Congress and at least ten of them are from the Vokkaliga community. He was speaking to media persons in Mysuru on Sunday.
Mr Lakshman also condemned the verbal attack by senior JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Leader of Opposition Mr Siddaramaiah. He compared the JD(S) to a family trust and challenged them to give tickets to non-family members in Ramanagar and Channapatna.
He also lambasted the BJP government saying they had failed in every sector and even in handling the Covid 19 situation in the State. They are hiding the number of children who have tested positive for covid, Mr Lakshman alleged.
He also targeted the Mysuru district minister saying he has not brought any new project to Mysuru in the past one year. ‘’We will expose the exorbitant corruption in MUDA with documents shortly,’’ he said.
On the Tamil Nadu government taking up the irrigation project near Hogenekkal at the TN border, Mr Lakshman said the BJP does not have the confidence to come to power on its own in the next Lok Sabha elections. So it is trying to woo Tamil Nadu by supporting the irrigation project and also delaying approval for the Mekedatu project. The BJP high command seems to have ‘stitched together’ the mouths of 25 MPs from Karnataka and might have even given them an injection to make them stay mum on the Mekedatu project, he said.
Mr Lakshman also called Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai a “7pm CM” and quipped that he is not available to people after 7pm.
