Accusing the BJP government in the state of rampant corruption, Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said he would write to the governor seeking dismissal of the government headed by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Talking to the media here on Friday, he said recently, Karnataka State Contractors’ Association has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the prevailing ‘40 per cent commission’ in all government departments to bag contracts. No contractor gets a contract without shelling out 40 percent commission. The Association office-bearers had explained in the letter written to the PM about the current rate of commission in every department.
Accordiing to Siddaramaiah, the Association had given details about the commission rate in the Public Works, Water Resources, Urban Development, Rural Development and other departments. “If I had said this, they (BJP) would have termed them allegations. But since the allegation has been made by the Contractors Association, it must be taken with all seriousness. PM Modi says he will not indulge in corruption nor allow others to do it but his party’s government in Karnataka is fully corrupt. I have never seen such a corrupt government in my four decades of political life. I will write to the governor to dismiss the Bommai government on corruption charges”, Siddaramaiah added.
