Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation has announced the introduction of two new types of passes for its commuters. One-day pass and three-day pass will be introduced from April 2. The one-day pass is priced at Rs 200 and will enable the passenger to take an unlimited number of trips for one day. The three-day pass allows the same for three days from the date of purchase and is priced at Rs 400. Both these passes include a refundable amount of Rs 50 that acts as a security deposit. The pass will be in the form of a smart card and commuters can obtain them at the ticket counters of Metro stations. However, they will be required to return the pass at a Customer Care Centre in any of the stations. The refund of Rs 50 will be made on the condition that the smart card is in good working condition.

BMRCL has said that it will be refunding unclaimed amounts in the online smart cards with effect from April 2. This includes recharge and top-up amounts recharged online. The amount can be updated after one hour and within seven days from the time of recharge by tapping the smart cards at any of the AFC gates. It can also be done at Card Top-up Terminals or CTTs anytime within 15 days from the date of recharge. In case the commuters are not able to update the amount within 15 days, the unclaimed amount will be refunded through the same channel within 30 days after deducting a cancellation fee of 2.5 per cent of the recharge amount.
