Ibrahim resigns from Council, cosies up to Deve Gowda
NT Correspondent
Congress MLC C.M. Ibrahim tendered his resignation from the Legislative Council on Thursday. Ibrahim met chairman of the Council, Basavaraj Horatti, and handed over the letter of resignation.
Horatti told News Trail that Ibrahim’s resignation has been accepted with immediate effect as per rules. Talking to reporters, Ibrahim said he felt free after putting in his papers. Now, his services were at the disposal of JD(S) National President and former PM H.D. Deve Gowda, he said.
It may be mentioned here that the Congress MLC was unhappy with his party leaders after he was denied the post of Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council after S.R. Patil’s tenure ended in December, last year.
The Congress Party picked B.K. Hariprasad for the Opposition leader’s post which angered Ibrahim who felt his seniority and service to the grand old party of the country was being neglected.
